Burpee Decedant Book

Got this email from Jerry Burpee, i found a link on the Web Hello my name is Jerry Burpee and I recently compiled a genealogy book entitled “Descendants of Thomas Burpee – The First Burpee 1613-2003, Second Edition”. This book is 373 pages with over 5100 names, dates, and places of direct Burpee descendants and their spouses, including some pictures (in color), biographies, family stories, and essays. Chances are high that if you or your parents are not listed, your grandparents are. To check, contact me and I’ll let you know.

To keep cost down* I published the book myself; therefore at this time the book only costs $35 U.S., which includes priority shipping & handling in the U.S. If you would like to have a copy of the Burpee periodic newsletter mailed to you, please include an additional $3, otherwise include your email address and it will be sent to you for free. If you buy several books as gifts, please let me have the recipient’s names and e-mail address. If you have special requests, or would like to have a personal family tree compiled please contact me for pricing.

Please send check or money order to:

I can always be reached via email at:

Burpee_Family@hotmail.com

I stated at the beginning that this book is compiled, not finished. This will be a growing book with periodic newsletters stating corrections, and by the year 2010, an updated book (third edition) would be released with additional and updated family information. This cycle will continue, therefore the book will never be completed. It is important to get on the mailing list now so that you will get regular updates.

* I believe this book should stay in the content that John S. Burpee writer of “A Partial History of the Burpee Family in America” intended his information to be shared. He once stated “I am not publishing this book as a commercial venture with the idea of making any profit from it. It will be available to any member of the family desiring a copy at the lowest price that will allow me to clear the expenses of publication, postage, etc. My own work has been done purely as a hobby, with the object of preserving the family genealogy in some concrete form for the benefit of this and the succeeding generations.”

Any money surplus will be used in sending copies of this book to genealogy research centers.

Thanks,

Jerry Burpee

    Hi,
Do you have a current e-mail address for Jerry Burpee. I was in contact a few years back and bought a copy of his book, which I have lost. Have tried to contact him at burpee_family.com recently but am not receiving a reply.

    Be patient.
Jerry Burpee is currently very busy with other matters – business/civic/volunteer duties, etc. and may look at burpee_family@hotmail.com about every second month – if that. His books (edition 1 & 2) DESCENDANTS OF THOMAS BURPEE:THE FIRST BURPEE, 1613-2001/3 have been ‘sold out’ .
In the meantime, I will endeavor to help you out… but don’t expect me to have ALL the answers!
My mother’s maiden name, BURPE [note one "E" spelling - the last with that ending, me thinks! and, yes, a desc/o that first Thomas]
